Hauptaufgaben

*Direct and manage transportation policies and guidelines for the assigned region.

*Oversee and evaluate the work of subordinate staff, providing guidance and instruction.

*Process and prioritize requests for shipping military cargo, determining the most appropriate and economical method of transport.

*Arrange and coordinate both domestic and international shipments, preparing all necessary documentation.

*Plan and manage special shipments that require non-standard routes, hazardous material handling, or specialized equipment.

*Create and maintain detailed reports and statistics on all shipping and transportation operations.

*Act as the primary contact for customers and transportation providers to give advice and information on shipping procedures.

*Ensure all transportation activities comply with safety regulations and carrier agreements.

Qualifikationsanforderungen

C-6a:
MINIMUM Hauptschulabschluss (E&T Level I) PLUS 2 years of clerical experience PLUS 4 years of job related experience.

Current employees who do not meet E&T Level I and who are not in the same or similar occupation must have 2 additional years of clerical experience.

Current employees who have served one year in the same or similar occupation are qualified for the next higher grade.

Definition – Clerical Experience & Job Related Experience:
Clerical Experience: Included clerical work in an office or store, working with computers, bookkeeping, making and recording inventories, telephone marketing, arranging for events or as a cashier, etc.

Job Related Experience: Experience in the same or similar line of work as the job for which considered. The experience must demonstrate that the applicant possesses the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required in the position. The predominant experience must have been gained at a comparable level of difficulty to the position to be filled.

• Work requires irregular work hours, including night, weekend and holiday when loading/unloading vessels and/or modes of inland transportation. It requires incumbent to work indoors and outdoors during inclement weather.
• Office automation skills required.
• Applicant must be in the possession of a valid driver's license class B and must be able to obtain/maintain a military motor vehicle operator's license.
• English Language Proficiency level C1 AND German Language Proficiency level C1 required.
• Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) of about 25% of time required.
• Rotating shift work required as well as work on weekends and holdidays.
